Are you a passionate and innovative Design Technology Teacher with expertise in Product Design and Resistant Materials? If so, GSL Education are recruiting a Design Technology Teacher to work within a Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire starting Immediately till August 2024. This is a great opportunity for a Qualified Teacher seeking a change in pace or simply after a new challenge.

Design Technology Teacher responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Product Design and Resistant Materials, catering to the diverse interests and abilities of students.
  • Incorporate hands-on, practical activities to enhance learning and skill development.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the design and technology workshop.
  • Contribute and engage in extra-curricular Design and Technology activities.
  • Take part in staff training days, staff meetings and parent’s evenings.
  • Provide guidance and support to students involved in design and technology-related projects.

Minimum candidate requirements:

  • A UK teaching qualification namely e.g. PGCE in Design and Technology or B.Ed with QTS.
  • Degree in Design Technology, Product Design, Resistant Materials, or a related field.
  • Up to date in their field of expertise with the capability of fostering curiosity and interest for the subject.
  • Specialization or significant experience in teaching Product Design and Resistant Materials at the secondary level.
  • Strong command of the curriculum and good behaviour management skills; able to meet deadlines.
  • Be effective at behaviour management linked to complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
