Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) – provides planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. Also, develops the nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary.

RNs communicate changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate. As well as participate in discharge planning process.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.


Qualifications

Associate’s degree Required
Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS)-obtained within 30 days of hire date

 

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)


Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)


ACLS Certification required after 6 months in ICU. PALS Certification required after 6 months in ICU. 

 

CCRN Certification preferred within 2 years for experienced ICU RNs or within 3 years for new grad RNs.



Successful completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia exam within 90 days.

Licenses: Current Alabama RN Licensure or Compact License that includes AL
