HVAC Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and performing repairs on assigned HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems in such manner as to eliminate system downtime and ensure optimal client relations.

- Ability to troubleshoot, calibrate and adjust pilots, thermostats and burners, transformers, controls, relays, heaters, elements, switches and controls on electrical systemsÂ
- Ability to use the tools of the trade (e.g. multimeter, refrigerant gauges, charging charts, hand tools etc.)Â
- Installs, maintains and repairs ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipmentÂ
- Identifies maintenance risks on equipmentÂ
- Diagnoses electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systemsÂ
- Cleans, adjusts and repairs systems, and performs warranty servicesÂ
- Performs emergency repairs promptly and efficientlyÂ
- Provides technical direction and on-the-job trainingÂ
- Keeps daily logs and records of all maintenance functionsÂ
- Ensures compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety ActÂ
- Complies with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirementsÂ
- Assists with customers' queriesÂ
- Completes other duties as assignedÂ
- High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalentÂ
- Refrigeration/HVAC Trade or Vocational certification required.Â
- 1+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
- Willingness to Work at Various Heights: The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in elevated environments. This includes tasks that may require being at different heights for extended periods.
- Ladder Climbing: Regular climbing of ladders is a critical part of this position. The candidate must be capable of safely ascending and descending ladders of various sizes and types.
- Utilizing Various Lifts: Proficiency in operating a range of lifts is essential. This involves maneuvering scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other mechanical devices to reach higher areas.Â
- Army MOS 51L, AF 3E131, Marine 1161 military occupational specialty. Â
Note: Candidates should be physically fit and have no fear of heights. Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous but not mandatory. Training on specific equipment will be provided as needed.
