Job Summary:

 

The Aquatics Lead will oversee the safe and efficient operation of an attraction/rotation in Hurricane Harbor, prevent aquatic emergencies and resolve problems using professional lifeguard skills and techniques. Successful applicants will need to be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Maintain a safe, friendly and clean, work environment

· Perform all lifeguard duties, meeting Jeff Ellis & Associates and Six Flags standards.

· Ensure lifeguards are performing duties correctly and adhering to all Six Flags and Ellis & Associates policies and standards

· Professional Guest and employee interaction to assist with problems and to inform of and enforce park policies, being a role model for the Team for Guest Service and interaction, enhancing Guests visits.

· Coordinate and organize work assignments, breaks, and rotations for lifeguards

· Complete reports, such as rotation grids, turnstile reports, maintenance reports, training records, and others as necessary

· Perform daily safety checklists

· Train lifeguards on attraction operating procedures

· Perform other duties deemed necessary by Management

· Evaluate the performance of lifeguard team and coach when necessary

 

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be at least 16 years of age

· Must have completed Discovery orientation and Aquatics Department Training

· Good written and oral communication skills

· Must be able to obtain a Ellis & Associates ILTP Special Facilities License by successfully passing all applicable lifeguard training and Special Facilities licensing through Jeff Ellis & Associates including practical and written tests, demonstrating abilities in water rescue techniques, basic first aid and CPR

· Must be able to push, pull or drag at least 50 lbs, and lift and carry at least 25 lbs.

· Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather conditions

· Available to work a varied schedule, including but not limited to at least 4 shifts per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays
