We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our growing team. The Project Engineer would be responsible for entire project cycle to include design, development, and project completion in cold-formed steel projects. The Engineer will prepare engineering analyses and drawings for review by the supervisor. Typical projects would range from load bearing delegated engineering, curtainwall design and interior fit outs of projects ranging up to 8 stories.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare engineering analysis of projects from preliminary design to final drawings and calculations
• Oversee and provide guidance of drafting of plans to represent your design.
• Coordinate information from outside design teams and contractors.
• Review plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices
• Work with comments from supervisors and incorporate into future projects to develop skills to lead future projects
• Work within established time periods and deadlines
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarize self with and select appropriate standard details for projects
• Markup, Layout, and Redline standard details for simple projects
• Work in groups with engineers from various offices.
• Review/Learn specs for projects on which you are working
• Review Construction Administration (CA) for projects on which you are working
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications:
• EIT license required, Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in civil engineering
• 3+ years of experience in the building structural design industry
• Experience in Revit.
• Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
• Thorough knowledge of commercial building code and applicable structural design code material references.
Skills and Competencies:
• Thorough understanding of building design and construction, most specifically detailing of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, etc.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required
• Ability to identify applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, on multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines, and bring each to successful completion
• Ability to produce adequate, understandable, organized calculations
• Ability to Prepare hand calculations and utilize computer programs to double check and enhance your work
