ACTALENT is Hiring for Pharmacy Technician Roles

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • filling prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, labeling products appropriately, and participating in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy.
  • check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.
  • preparing medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
  • communicate with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner and assist in the training of new employees.
  • process returned medications from the facility.
  • work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room, work with an automated machine to prepack drugs, manage inventory functions, input patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry), mix/package IV medications, sanitize IV room, equipment and hood, service facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow), or perform other tasks as assigned.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite position in Austin, Texas

This position offers a Monday - Friday shift from 9 AM to 6 PM and weekend shifts from 9 AM to 3 PM.

You will work in a closed-door pharmacy where you can focus on fulfilling the pharmaceutical needs of our long-term care clients. This is a non-retail pharmacy environment. You will primarily work in a closed-door, fulfillment pharmacy, which is more akin to a production/fulfillment/warehouse setting.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.  
  • 1 plus years of experience in a pharmacy setting and with medical terminology.  
  • Ability to operate a computer; ability to recognize and identify medications.  
  • Detail oriented.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Texas
