Position Summary:

• Provides critical intensive care to Medical, Surgical, and Cardiac patient population.
• Provides therapies included but not limited to: Administration of vasoactive drugs, respiratory/ventilator support, management of cardiac status with continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, parenteral and enteral nutritional support, temporary transvenous pacing, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Therapy, thrombolytic therapy, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), peritoneal dialysis, and acute hemodialysis performed by a hemodialysis nurse.
• Performs assessment skills.
• Plans nursing care.
• Intervenes with appropriate action after needs are identified.
• Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process.
• Demonstrates professional and personal development.
• Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of the patient served including adult and geriatric patients.

Minimum Education:

Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required

Required Skills:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) -to be obtained within 30 days

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 months.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - to be obtained within 6 months.

Required Licenses:
Current registered nurse or compact licensure.
