Responsibilities

  • You will prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests, ensuring compliance with all local laws and regulations.
  • We expect you to maintain a clean and organized bar area, including managing inventory levels and restocking supplies as necessary.
  • You shall engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
  • We require you to accurately process transactions through the point-of-sale system, handling cash and card payments efficiently and securely.
  • You will create and recommend new drink recipes and promotions to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
  • We expect you to monitor and manage responsible alcohol consumption by guests, taking appropriate action when needed to ensure safety and compliance.
  • You shall collaborate effectively with other hotel staff members, including servers and kitchen personnel, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • We require you to participate in regular training sessions and meetings to stay updated on best practices, menu changes, and company policies.

Requirements

  • You must be proficient in preparing and serving a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
  • We expect you to maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
  • You should have excellent customer service skills, ensuring guests feel welcome and attended to promptly.
  • It is essential that you are capable of handling cash and processing credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • You need to be skilled at identifying intoxicated guests and managing situations with tact and professionalism.
  • We require that you can create a positive atmosphere by engaging with guests and offering drink recommendations based on their preferences.
  • You must comply with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Having the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth service during peak hours is crucial.

Primary Purpose: 

The primary purpose of the Restaurant Bartender is to provide guests with an excellent restaurant and bar experience, ensuring beverages are properly mixed and served while adhering to the established controls and protocols.

Work Performed: 

The Restaurant Bartender will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments: 

  • Provide exceptional and professional service to guests by promptly welcoming and courteously serving guests; 

  • Dispense alcoholic beverages and control service to ensure accordance with liquor laws and company policies and regulations; 

  • Perform side duties such as cleaning, sanitizing, garnish preparation, miscellaneous food and beverage preparation, stocking, etc.; 

  • Ensure all alcohol is removed from counters and tables prior to closing time; 

  • Complete daily opening and closing duties; 

  • Account for all cash and secure money drops according to company policy; 

  • Ensures tips are reported properly for tax processing; 

  • Observe Health Department guidelines for food handling and sanitation so that guests and employees will not be in risk of cross-contamination.  Keep compartment sink, side boards, and refrigerators clean and sanitized.  

  • Date and rotate food on a daily basis; 

  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management; and 

  • Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position. 

Qualifications: 

 

Required Prior Experience: 

Six (6) months of previous bartender experience 

Preferred Prior Experience:

Hospitality experience 

Required Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent  

 

Required Licenses/ Certification: 

Food Safety Training certified or become certified within first 60 days of employment.   

Alcohol Awareness certified or become certified within first 60 days of employment   

 

Preferred Technology: 

Previous experience with Micros operating system  

Physical: 

Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs occasionally 

Able to lift 10lbs regularly 

Able to bend and squat repeatedly 

Able to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift  

 

Other: 

Flexible to work day shifts, early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
