River Rock Academy in Sinking Spring, PA is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute School Counselor for the '24-'25 school year to work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team and is responsible for guidance in the development and maintenance of the school counseling program. This position focuses on the needs of both the individual student and the entire school community and is responsible for the delivery of counseling and providing education for school/community concerns. This is a contracted position consisting of a 4-month contract. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct prescribed individual and group counseling sessions in a positive, therapeutic manner.
  • Develop and implement individual education plan (IEP) goals individualized to the student while developing and updating behavior/treatment plan.
  • Maintain student confidentiality per agency policy. FERPA/HIPAA privacy rule and regulation, and student/ counselor confidentiality.
  • Oversee therapeutic confidentiality between staff and students and make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the relationship
  • Maintain daily logs with services provided in relationship to IEP guidelines and complete various reports as directed
