Description:

The candidate will be working with blood to perform DNA extractions. The Job will be primarily on the bench. This candidate will be performing PCR, sequencing (n-point pcr or r-pcr) and utilizing aseptic techniques regularly. The ideal candidate will have the ability to follow SOP's while being organized with documentation. There are plenty of opportunities to learn both molecular techniques and how to transfer those to an automated process. Candidates will need to feel comfortable working in a team set up and work together to contribute to the success of the entire project. The consultant will be surrounded by specialized professionals in the biotech field where they can bridge the gap between assay development and prototype design & testing. This role is with the platform integration team but will be able to cross functional with other teams contributing at different stages. Which is why problem solving and effective communication will be vital to this individual's success and growth. Candidates will have to fit into the team dynamic and have soft skills that correlate with Flavia's group (personable & enthusiastic)

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

BS with 1-3 years’ experience in applicable life sciences (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Immunology). Nucleic acid techniques (DNA extraction, purification, quantification, qPCR, PCR multiplex). Molecular biology (sample preparation using magnetic particles). Data interpretation and analysis. Experience with standard laboratory techniques such as aseptic technique are essential. Experience working in a BSL-2 environment with live organisms is a plus. Ability to work with human blood is needed. Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) will aid everyday work.
