Founded in 2003, Professional Builders Supply today operates locations in the Carolinas, selling, installing and distributing residential and commercial building materials such as lumber, siding, trim, doors, windows, decking and railing. The company also operates a truss manufacturing facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina and provides turn-key installation services for multifamily applications through its PBS Commercial brand and for residential roofing and siding via SouthEnd Exteriors.

Position Overview

A Sidi ng I ns t a l l a n d S e r v i ce Manager will supervise the work of a team of Sidi ng I ns t a l l a n d S e r v i ce Technicians, Leads and Supervisors. This position is responsible for overseeing the installation and service process in an efficient manner.

Essential Job Duties

  • Follow instructions from supervisor regarding installation of materials.
  • Work with other installers to install products as assigned and tra ine d.
  • Follow manufacturer directions and warranty requirements when installing products.
  • Track time and materials as required for each installation project.
  • Maintain all equipment in good order and report any malfunctions to field supervisor.
  • Ope ra te all equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Attend all training to learn new technology of building materials and installation methods as required by location management.
  • Cross-train in other areas to expand knowledge and expertise .
  • Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
  • Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by field supervisor or location Management.


Criteria for Manager

  • Manage 10 or more associates (direct & indirect reports)
  • Budgeting accountability
  • Hire/fire authority


  • Goal setting & communication
  • Provide performance feedback


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum education required - High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum experience required - Sidi ng i ns t a l l ation experience preferred.
  • Special skills required -Read and use a measuring tape and other required tools for complete installation.
  • Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written skills and the ability to provide and/or follow detailed instructions.
  • Physical demands include walking throughout yards, plants and offices. Regularly lifting 50 pounds and frequently lifting up to 100 pounds. Working from ladders or in tight spaces. Ability to work outside in all environmental conditions.
  • Willing to travel as needed.


Criteria for Manager

  • 4+ years sidi ng i ns t a l l ation/service experience
  • Excellent teamwork & customer relationships
  • Demonstration of leadership (all required ): Mentor new associate. Willingness to train others. Safety committee engagement. Participation in US1 Continuous Improvement Projects
