Provides direct patient care in Postpartum, Nursery, or Labor and Delivery setting.
路聽聽聽聽聽Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes.
路聽聽聽聽聽Documents all activity appropriately in the Electronic Medical Record.
路聽聽聽聽聽Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
路聽聽聽聽聽Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.
路聽聽聽聽聽Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
路聽聽聽聽聽Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
路聽聽聽聽聽Follows the six (6) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
路聽聽聽聽聽Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all infants, adolescents, and adults and reassessments per policy.
路聽聽聽聽聽Ability to assess neonate at delivery and perform neonatal resuscitation according to American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
路聽聽聽聽聽Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient鈥檚 response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
路聽聽聽聽聽Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
路聽聽聽聽聽Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
路聽聽聽聽聽Ability to assist physicians with procedures in Postpartum, L&D, and/or Newborn Nursery.
路聽聽聽聽聽Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over patient life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served.
路聽聽聽聽聽Able to interpret data about the patient鈥檚 status in order to identify each patient鈥檚 age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
路聽聽聽聽聽Interacts professionally with patient and family and involves patient and family in the formation of the plan of care.聽聽
Qualifications
Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Preferred
Required Licenses:
Must have a current Mississippi Registered Nurse license or a current Compact State Registered Nurse license.
Required Certifications:
路聽聽聽聽聽Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification聽required聽within 90 days of hire or transfer.
路聽聽聽聽聽Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification聽required聽within 90 days of hire or transfer.
路聽聽聽聽聽Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification聽required聽within 90 days of hire or transfer.
路聽聽聽聽聽Association of Women鈥檚 Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWOHNN) Certification聽preferred.
路聽聽聽聽聽Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification聽preferred.

路聽聽聽聽聽Demonstrates proficient time management skills.
路聽聽聽聽聽Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security. Additional languages preferred.
