Registered Nurse (RN) - Market House Supervisor & Float Pool Manager
Three 12-Hour Shifts (1 Danville SOVAH, 1 Martinsville SOVAH, 1 Office), Day Shift Variable, Occasional Nights
Position Summary:Â
- Position is responsible for both SOVAH Campuses (Danville & Martinsville), also referred to as "Market"
- Responsible for House Supervisors, Float Pools and sitter programs
- Responsible for providing leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental philosophy and goalsÂ
- Acts as the supervisor on duty to make management decisions, provide direction and supervision with operational issues for all hospital departmentsÂ
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization for float pool and house supervision and other areas as assignedÂ
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectivesÂ
- Coordinates staffing/bed control meeting of Nursing Management to facilitate patient throughput and appropriate patient placementÂ
- Works with Director/Clinical Managers to ensure daily staffing needs are met for all nursing departments providing patient care; oversight of staffing activitiesÂ
- Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiativesÂ
- Ensures that staff meet necessary educational, certification, and license requirements of their positionÂ
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated fundingÂ
- Coordinates and directs internal/external auditsÂ
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growthÂ
- Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocolsÂ

Minimum Qualifications:Â
- Graduate of a Program in Professional NursingÂ
- Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact StateÂ
- Minimum of five (5) years of RN experience in an acute care hospital settingÂ
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision Â
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actionÂ
- Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidaysÂ
- Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association (AHA)Â
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), American Heart Association (AHA)Â
- Bachelor of Science strongly degree, preferredÂ
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration, preferredÂ
- Three (3) years of leadership experience, preferredÂ
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), American Heart Association (AHA) preferredÂ
