JOB PURPOSE: Train and coach while working alongside a team in the area Ticket selling, ticket taking, seasons pass and guest relations.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:              

  • Ensure the safety of both guests and employees is the highest priority.
  • Train employees in accordance with standard operating procedures, training checklists, and safety standards.
  • Supervise the operation of the front gate and guest relations and ensure subordinate team members perform job functions safely, efficiently, and courteously and in accordance with standard operating procedures. 
  • Maintain an open and effective line of communication between team members and management/supervision.
  • Abide by Six Flags Darien Lake cash handling policy.
  • Evaluate the performance of employees and provide feedback to promote growth and retention.
  • Take immediate and decisive action to correct employees who are working at a substandard level.
  • Maintain reports, logs, and checklists while ensuring all forms are completed neatly and accurately.
  • Schedule break periods and ensure breaks are completed on time.
  • Maintain an adequate stock of all necessary cleaning supplies, paperwork, and equipment.
  • Interpret and enforce all park and corporate policies as set forth by Darien Lake.
  • Respond to guest comments and resolve guest concerns in a friendly, non-offensive manner.
  • Ensure employees immediately report all injuries to First Aid Department.  Work with Safety to ensure that individuals are retrained when necessary to ensure safe practices are followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Appreciation for the serious and safety critical nature of the responsibilities inherent in the job. 
  • 1 year of admissions and or parking attendant
  • For safety purposes, the individual must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Proven organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and guests.
  • Strong motivational, leadership and team building skills.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain certification and trainer status on all rides and equipment in assigned areas.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and a six-day workweek, as required.

OTHER FUNCTIONS: Any and all other duties that is assigned or necessary in order to support the Operations Department and the park as a whole.  While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the requirements of the job, management reserves the right to add or remove duties when circumstances (emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs, staff levels or technical developments) dictate.

  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level is generally moderate to high.  Employee may be exposed to odors and fumes.
