Position Summary:
The Admission nurse is a professional registered nurse who serves as liaison between hospitals, physicians, other facilities, health care professionals, and insurance companies. He/she carries the primary responsibility for evaluating all patient referrals for inpatient, partial hospitalization, or outpatient services; obtaining physician approval for admissions and pre-certification. This position performs inquiries, screenings, admissions, pre-certifications, and referrals displaying expertise in crisis intervention skills and guest relations with a firm belief that the patient receives the most appropriate treatment possible.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum: Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure.
Preferred: BSN
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: Two (2) years clinical experience in nursing or intake.
Preferred: Four (4) years psychiatric experience
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Florida
American Heart Association BLS certification
Successful completion of CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Non—Violent Crisis Intervention Certification course within 90 days of hire and maintained annually
