Your role at Baxter
 

As Senior Manager in the Global Trade Center of Excellence, you will collaborate with Global and Regional Trade leadership to drive the ongoing improvement of Baxter’s Global Trade Management Program, ensuring that imports and exports are handled effectively, efficiently and compliantly through the identification, development, and execution of center led Global Trade critical initiatives.

This role will drive strategy and execution across 4 key areas:

  • Trade Facilitation
  • Trade Program Management (C-TPAT, AEO)
  • Trade Compliance/ Risk Management
  • Trade Cost Optimization


What you'll be doing

  • Leverage deep Global Trade subject matter expertise to advise local/regional Global Trade personnel on Trade and Customs matters
  • Monitor and assess impact of changes to Global Customs and related laws and regulations and collaborate with leadership to take vital action to comply and/or mitigate impact
  • Orchestrate execution of Global Trade digital strategy, including software implementation, partner/Govt integrations and leading practices
  • Develop Global Trade Master Data Management and Compliance Screening Standards (HTS, COO, ECCN, OGAs, DPL etc.)
  • Investigate, analyze, evaluate and implement strategic cost savings initiatives via Trade mechanisms such as foreign trade zones, duty drawback, free trade agreements, duty suspension regimes, etc.
  • Leverage internal and external data sources to develop cost and value tracking metrics (duty/fees & cost avoidance)
  • Coordinate review and update of all internal Global Trade Compliance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US and Global import/export regulations including Anti-Boycott, Export Controls, Denied Parties Screening, Valuation, Classification and Country of Origin
  • Employ lean/six sigma principles to prioritize continuous improvement across all Global Trade activities
  • Establish standard Global Trade key performance indicators, metrics and report templates


What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree (from an accredited university/college preferred)
  • At least 7 years of U.S. international trade compliance experience with a good understanding of core trade principles such as product valuation, tariff classification, C-TPAT and trade programs
  • Detailed understanding of supply chain logistics including air, ocean, truck & rail, as well as knowledge and experience with warehousing, distribution, supplier and inventory management
  • Experience working with Global Teams in a matrixed environment
  • U.S. Customs Brokers license or similar certification is highly preferred and healthcare or similar highly regulated industry experience is ideal
  • Experience and Interaction with Customs, FDA/MOH and other international government agencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills are essential. Ability to operate independently and interact with direct reports, Supply Chain, Global Manufacturing, Purchasing and Supplier Management, Marketing, Finance, Tax, outside service providers, and government officials
  • Strong problem solving, detail orientation, and analytical skills are required
  • Must have the ability to prioritize multiple projects/workflow and handle time efficiently in order to meet established timelines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and Thomson Reuters One Source or similar Global Trade Management Software

The estimated base salary for this position is $120,000 - $165,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive.
