Arizona Building Supply serves the needs of builders, contractors, and homeowners statewide. Arizona Building Supply manufactures truss and wall panel components, and sells a wide range of building materials including lumber, windows, doors, hardware and trim. Additionally, they operate regional home centers located throughout the state, offering a variety of building materials and home improvement supplies.

Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company has openings for Truss Worker I's who will assist in the production of trusses while learning the skills used in assembly. During the training process a Truss Worker I may be given assignments in several areas of truss production including: Laborer, Picker, Stacker, Bander, Tailperson, and Assembler I for the purpose of learning tasks in each department.

The pay rate for this position is $13.00/hr - $18.00/hr depending on experience.

INTENT OF JOB DESCRIPTION AND MODIFICATION
This job description describes the duties and responsibilities, qualification requirements, physical demands, work environment, etc. for this job. Duties may be combined with other jobs or duties from other jobs depending upon operational circumstances. Management reserves the right to add, modify or end any of the duties contained in the job description as business conditions warrant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Within 30 days of employment, associates must meet company standards for quality and quantity of work. The associate must also satisfactorily perform the following duties.

1. Arrive at work location punctually and consistently on a daily basis.
2. Show initiative in learning truss manufacturing. Learn truss manufacturing terminology and train in the efficient, effective and safe operation of truss manufacturing machinery.
3. Follow instructions when given an assignment.
4. Learn safety procedures and follow established procedures for all assignments.
5. Maintain work stations including inventory and work areas according to Company standards and housekeeping guidelines. Restock materials.
6. Handle lumber and perform miscellaneous yard work as assigned.
7. Comply with all Company requirements for conduct and work behavior.
8. Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required.
9. Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.

In addition to the items listed above, the associate may also perform any or all of the following duties:

1. Become familiar with truss plate inventory system and the proper truss plate placements.
2. Learn proper timing and procedures for clearing cut lumber from saw area.

3. Learn procedures for stacking and banding trusses to reduce risk of damage or breakage during loading, transport and unloading.
4. Assist the Packager in preparing truss packages for delivery.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. No prior experience or training required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to verbally communicate using the English language is preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English is also preferred..

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
If assigned to drive a forklift, a certificate issued by a previous employer or outside vendor on the correct and safe operation of a forklift is required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to read and use a tape measure. Must be able to use a hammer.
