Position Overview

Delivers materials to job site, inspects and maintains truck, reports shortag es and claims to supervisor and assists in loading and storing of materials. Typically, driving a truck with a capacity of more than three tons, but may be a l es s experienced CDL or tractor trailer driver.

Pay Rate: $21.00 - $25.00

  • Prepar es DOT required log of time on duty and driving
  • Organiz es and secur es load
  • Assists forklift operators when loading
  • Checks orders for acc uracy
  • Delivers and unloads materials to customers' satisfaction
  • Complet es daily equipment pre-inspection
  • Records all merchandise that is returned by truck, assists in unloading material returned for credit
  • Follows guidelin es es tablished by the Department of Transportation
  • Provid es Excellent Customer Service
  • Relays m es sag es sent by customers while on job
  • Assists supervisor, other employe es and other work areas, as assigned
  • Assists in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse
  • Compli es with all company polici es and guidelin es
  • Safe and efficient operation of truck mounted forklift

Knowledge, Skills & Abiliti es

  • Minimum education preferred - High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
  • Minimum experience preferred - 6 months CDL experience preferred. Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required . 1 year CDL experience required for interstate commerce.
  • Special skills required- Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions and complete forms.
  • Ability to effectively and prof es sionally communicate with customers, other employe es and
  • supervisors using verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to deal con s t r u c t i vely with con flict and recognize potential problems.
  • Maintains current operator's license and meets company driver qualification requirements.
  • Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniqu es
  • Physical demands include stooping, bending, twisting and throwing. Working in a variety of climat es and environmental con ditions. Ability to lift up 100 lbs or more on a repetitive basis.
