Jefferson Wells is looking to hire a Controller, contract to potential perm hire, for a manufacturing and distribution company located on the Southeast side of Los Angeles. We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to join the finance team full-time, 40 hours a week On-site. The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. Plus, lead and develop a small finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger functions.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Maintain and improve financial procedures and internal controls.
• Manage and maintain accounting systems and software, including Sage and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3 to 10 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing and distribution, with a revenue of over $1 billion.
• Proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

• Hourly rate of $50 to $75 an hour with Direct Deposit
• Full-time 6 month contract, with potential to perm hire with full Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K Benefits as a W-2 employee
