Enterprise Risk Management Senior Associate

Boston, United States of America

The Sr. Associate, Risk Management serves as a subject matter expertise (SME) and serves as an authority and credible challenge to management regarding credit performance, potential or emerging risks, and business conformity with risk appetite, credit culture, and policies. They select and optimize risk management processes and strategies for various initiatives, capturing and implementing recommendations from audits and other internal/compliance and external/regulatory assessment projects, and employing risk.

  • Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company by identifying, manage, and reports on the company's risk areas. Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of data, document retention, and monitors systems.

  • Collaborates with ERM Management team and key stakeholders to ensure timely completion of critical data and content for reporting and program management.

  • Coordinate and schedule regulatory oversight meetings to review any regulatory or internal audit draft responses prior to submission. Included but not limited to Top Issues, Regulatory Program Management Oversight and Exam coordination/review meetings.

  • Provide full visibility onto the status of regulatory items, exams and upcoming deliverables to regulatory agencies and third parties. Escalate to management and senior executives any potential issues, concerns, or re-cast of committed remediation dates.

  • Demonstrates strong subject matter expertise and serves as an authority and credible challenge to management regarding credit performance, potential or emerging risks, and business conformity with risk appetite, credit culture, and policies. Supports regulatory oversight function to ensure meeting material context aligns with expectations and requirements.

  • Tracking and reporting, maintain a sharepoint database, gather and disseminate materials for review and challenge, schedule and facilitate review and challenge meetings, follow up on any required updates.

  • Ability to cross train and adapt to provide support in all ERM Programs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Work Experience: 9+ years in Risk Management or equivalent work experience

  • Strong risk management principles, methodologies and tools, governance principles and activity preferably in a financial services.

  • Ability to independently operate in a complex environment; adept at delivering and maintaining productive working relationships across business, functions, geographies and lines of defense. This includes working with senior leadership and executive management

  • Ability to handle conflict resolution with other groups to ensure appropriate accounting responses and regulatory guidance is followed while conveying a sense of urgency and drive issues/projects to closure.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt to various audiences and ability to adjust to new developments/changing circumstances while maintaining attention to detail and ensuring data quality.

  • Detail oriented with strong organization analytical skills and project management experience tracking, planning, and implementing improvements. Preferably in the context of risk management based on an understanding of relevant processes and business needs. Must be able to manage a variety of projects with successful oversight and delivery in compressed timeframes.

  • Knowledge of risk management laws and regulations, banking operations, accounting, and finance, and understanding the financial services regulatory and risk management environment as it changes with the size and complexity of the organization.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills and also have the ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced environment. Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Share Point experience required.
