Great Opportunity to support new drug development for a growing biopharmaceutical company!

Animal Husbandry Technician is responsible for the care and well-being of animals. This position is responsible for various tasks related to animal husbandry, including health assessments, housing preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized vivarium environment.

Description:

• Receive animals and conduct health assessments. Identify and label animal housing, randomize animals into testing positions, and assist with transferring animals into clean cages.

• Monitor and record the temperature and humidity in the vivarium.

• Regulate the dehumidifier or humidifier to provide humidity levels within acceptable range.

• Maintain a detailed log of activities performed in the vivarium, including equipment calibration.

• Perform daily observations to ensure animals have adequate food and water.

• Clean and sanitize vivarium including walls, floors, racks, cages, and water bottles according to schedule.

• Perform general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, dusting, and mopping conference room, offices, labs, kitchen and facilities.

• Keep accurate and detailed records of all housekeeping tasks performed.

• Contribute to various lab-related tasks.

• Assist with other tasks as assigned by Team Lead.

• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

• Attend training sessions to stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum one year experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• General experience with animals in a work environment or a research environment is preferred.

• Ability to read and understand SOPs.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

• Proficient in basic Microsoft applications.

• Ability to follow protocols and maintain attention to detail.
