Description:

The Quality Lab Technologist is responsible for meticulous and diligent routine quality assurance testing of materials and components that are used in the manufacturing process and for the preparation of solutions for internal departments.

1. Preparation of buffer solution

2. Preparation of cell suspensions - washing the suspensions, counting cells using a hemocytometer, and diluting to working concentrations

3. Test raw materials and components according to established written work instructions

4. Tests Consumables products post-production according to established written work instructions

5. Tests new materials and products before introduction into production processes

6. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

7. Prepares and tests solutions for Calibration, Consumables and Customer Service departments according to established written work instructions

8. Ensure pipettes, balances and other laboratory equipment are calibrated according to established written work instructions

9. Participates in troubleshooting quality control process issues

10. Prepares and analyzes daily reports of quality control process results

11. Follows company policies and legislative requirements regarding health and safety including usage, care and storage of personal protective equipment

12. Interacts with Quality Engineer and other team members within Clean Room, Production, Materials and Consumables teams and keeps them up-to-date regarding quality control issues and results

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field of study or an adequate combination of Education and Experience to effectively perform the job requirements. Degree in Biology with Microbiology coursework preferred

• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and working in a biosafety level 2 environment.

• Strong math and analytical skills.

• 1+ year experience working with chemical solvents in a manufacturing or industrial environment

• Knowledge/Experience in calibration and usage of chemical laboratory equipment's and solutions preparation

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and internet

• Knowledge of health and safety issues relating to laboratory work including general health and safety rules, hazard identification, OSHA and safe work practices

• Ability to follow written work instructions and test procedures.

• Strong communication skills, written, read and verbal.

• Ability to lift 30+ pounds

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing demands and conflicting deadlines
