Request quotes, negotiate prices/contracts, select/determine suppliers, create info records, review and approve invoices, perform supplier evaluation, manage supplier development, cost analysis, cost training, cost optimization workshops with suppliers, design commodity group strategies.

This opportunity offers a combination of work from home days and office.

• Responsible for procurement, projects, and maintenance of assigned commodity groups
• Creation and implementation of commodity group strategy in coordination with group purchasing as well as local multi-functional teams
• Manage new supplier qualification in coordination with quality management and requesting department
• Manage request for quote (RFQ) process and prepare sourcing decision within commodity group
• Responsible for the preparation of data and analysis of relevant projects internally to management and staff
• Draft and execute contracts and lead negotiations with suppliers within commodity group
• Create, present, and execute action items resulting from commodity group strategies
• Supplier development (Q-meetings, audits, etc.) and performance tracking
• Coordinate with users to develop specifications and requirements which can be communicated with suppliers

Experience

Three to five years previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, procurement or project management in an industrial environment. Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, strong analytical and conceptual skills, and high self-confidence are a must. Must be organized, flexible, must take initiative and have the ability to work independently as well as on a team. Experience with material management, inventory control, SAP, working with lean manufacturing initiatives, and understanding of cost breakdowns is strongly preferred. Strong working knowledge of MS Office programs including PowerPoint, Word and Excel is required.

Education

Bachelor or Associate degree in engineering and/or business or related field, or suitable combination of education and work experience required. MBA or CSCP/CPIM, CPSM, or SCPro certifications preferred.
