About this Role

Presence invites recent graduates in Speech-Language Pathology to apply for our Clinical Fellowship (CF) program working on-site at one of our partner schools.  

This is a full-time mentored, professional experience designed to help you bridge the gap between graduate school and joining Presence as an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist. You'll work with a diverse range of students under the supervision of an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist, gaining valuable experience and fulfilling requirements towards your Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).  Upon completion of your CFY, you’re positioned to join our fully remote team, working a flexible, remote opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine eligibility or continued eligibility  for  special education and related services in the areas of speech and language. 

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs in collaboration with your mentor and Individualized Education Program (IEP) team members including multi-disciplinary team members (where applicable).

  • Provide direct therapy to students in person and via tele-therapy, if needed.

  • Maintain accurate student records, progress notes, and documentation in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), state regulations, organizational regulations and ethical guidelines.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student data as outlined in Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. (FERPA)

  • Participate in professional development, continuing education, in-services, and additional training to enhance your clinical skills.

  • Collaborate with your mentor to set goals, receive regular feedback, and track your progress toward CF completion.

What are we looking for? 

  • Speech Language Pathologist, Clinical Fellow in California

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution.

  • Eligibility for CA state (provisional licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and additional credentials that may apply.

  • Exposure to IEP meetings, case management, comprehensive report writing and educational eligibility determination 

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Strong computer and technology skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion pertinent to a school setting

  • Ability to meet all school-specific requirements (e.g., fingerprinting, drug testing, tuberculosis testing, etc.) 

  • CPR and First Aid certifications, preferred

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, preferred

Other information:

  • $41-$43 per hour

  • Paid for both direct and indirect time (Example: Indirect includes specific documentation, therapy planning, IEP development and case management , and more)

  • This position will be on-site at one or more of our partner schools

  • This position will be 35+ hours per week, Monday through Friday 

  • Must reside in California, Wisconsin, or Washington
