Position Summary:

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Prepare patients for Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Sessions

Provides patients with detailed cardiac and pulmonary education and helps patients establish goals for better quality of life.

Interviews new clients for Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab services when ordered by a physician.

Educate clients to follow appropriate exercise level.

Monitor and Document patient assessments, education and progress each visit.


Reports to: Director - Cardiac-Pulmonary & Neurodiagnostic

FLSA: Non-exempt


Minimum Education

Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or RN Diploma – Required

 

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer skills required.

Certifications:

·         BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire.

·         ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 6 months of employment, if not current upon hire

 

Licenses: State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure – Required

 

Minimum Work Experience

Must have minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience. Must have critical care experience. Cardiac Rehab experience preferred. Experience in clinical education preferred.
