Our client focuses on outsourced testing methods for multiple standardized procedures governed by the EPA's regulations and guidelines. The position is allowing the person an opportunity to accelerate their career in a very specialized industry.
Daily Responsibilities:
-Conduct asbestos analysis with quick turnaround times within a highly regulated environment.
-Preparation and analysis of environmental samples of air and bulk material using polarized light microscopy (PLM) and phase contrast microscopy (PCM)
-Delivering accurate results to the appropriate LIMS System
-Assist with clerical and lab duties as needed
-Perform QA/QC practices per company policy (important for all employees to be "calibrated" regularly, as the tests are very subjective
-May be cross-trained in multiple areas, but main purpose of the position is to relieve high volumes of samples
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
ā¢AS/BS Geology or Biology preferred
ā¢Previous PLM, PCM, or TEM experience a plus
ā¢Previous lab experience within PLM
