Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Consistent attendance and adherence to the posted schedule is a job requirement.

· Attend required Human Recourses, Security department training, and Security in-service training.

· Maintain Park grooming and appearance standards in accordance with policies set forth by the Human Resources department. Maintain department uniform guidelines in accordance with policies set forth by the Security department.

· Interact with guests, team members, and Park management on a daily basis.

· Work with a diverse team and cooperate with all team members and Park management.

· Communicate effectively with guests – able to answer basic questions and give directions.

· Communicate effectively with team members and Park management – in person, by phone, and by portable radio.

· Ensure guest safety and satisfaction in their visit to the Park – correct and/or report safety concerns and guest concerns according to department policy.

· Conduct all interactions with a professional, proactive, and friendly attitude toward both guests and team members.

· Represent the Security department and the Park in a professional manner at all times and consistent with department policy.

· Rapid response to any emergency situation in accordance with department policy and / or at the direction of department management.

· Work fixed position designed to support and administer overall Security operation:

o Answer and screen incoming phone calls. Transfer calls and take/deliver accurate phone messages. Make outgoing phone calls as needed.

o Monitor all Security and Park radio traffic. Answer radio calls and provide appropriate responses. Includes dispatching and coordinating response to security-related calls for service, emergencies, and requests for assistance.

o Broadcast information, alerts, and/or messages over all Park radio channels as directed.

o Create and track calls for service in computer dispatch system. Accurately account for active calls for service, officer assignments, and officer locations at all times.

o Monitor Park alarm system, surveillance systems, and weather tracking/alert system.

o Issue radios, Park keys, and other department equipment according to department policy from Dispatch. Includes tracking and taking inventory of all department equipment.

o Issue team member vehicle stickers and enter into vehicle sticker database.

o Complete necessary administrative duties to include filing of logs and reports; stocking of supplies/materials; and completing specifically assigned tasks or projects.

o Deliver department mail to and from the Park mailroom.

o Operate the copy machines in Dispatch and the Park mailroom. Operate the Park postage machine and sort incoming/outgoing mail.

o Monitor and assist with scheduling and attendance of all department team members. Assist department management with staffing requests, adjustments, or conflicts.

· Complete departmental reports and/or required paperwork according to department policy.

· Keep all information and documents confidential.

· Use and operate all Park equipment safely and correctly.

· Complete all required Six Flags Security certification tests.

· Assist with Park and post cleaning as needed or directed. Maintain a neat and organized work location at all times.

· Maintain all job duties and responsibilities independently with minimal direct supervision.

· Adhere to all Park labor policies pertaining to breaks taken, length of shift, and types of work performed.

· Assist with other department functions as directed by department management:

o Handling lost items and entering/updating lost item reports.

o Working fixed positions designed to monitor guest / employee entry/exit

 

Skills and Qualifications:

· 18 years of age or older

· Applicants must possess a valid Driver’s License.

· Must be able to stand and/or walk up to 8 hours at a time. This includes standing at a fixed position for extended periods of time.

· Must be able to walk up to 3 miles a day over various surfaces. This includes walking to and from assigned job positions, designated break areas, and shift begin/end locations.

· Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Outgoing and friendly personality.

· Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write in English language.

· Must be comfortable using and communicating via phone and portable radio. Radio communication is a key aspect of the Security operation and applicants must be able to listen/monitor radio communication by earpiece while simultaneously communicating to guests and team members in their presence.

· Must be capable of making outgoing calls and taking incoming calls from guests and team members.

· Must be proficient using a computer as this position requires continuous use of computer applications and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs as well as the ability to learn systems designed to record/track calls for service, monitor access control, monitor scheduling and labor tracking, monitor building and fire alarms, monitor Park surveillance, and monitor weather alerts.

· Must be willing to practice general housekeeping and maintain the cleanliness of assigned job position.

· Must be capable of working in all outdoor weather conditions.

· Must have reliable transportation to and from the Park.

· Must be flexible to change as job position may change daily and position hours change to accommodate Park hours of operation, special events, and/or department needs.

· Flexible work schedule including working at night, on weekends, and during holidays between Memorial Day to Labor Day.

· Must possess strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task, and be able to handle moderate levels of stress.

· Must be able to work with others and as a contributing part of a team / the department.

· Must be self-motivated, possess an enthusiastic attitude, and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
