Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, provide technical expertise, and provide quality control for environmental policies and practices that align with company sustainability goals and regulatory requirements including but not limited to air quality, industrial wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste.
  • Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations across all operational sites.
  • Manage all necessary environmental permits and renewals and ensure timely reporting and documentation.
  • Collaborate with operational, functional and project management teams to integrate environmental compliance into daily operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to site managers and other employees on environmental compliance issues.
  • Stay updated on new and upcoming environmental laws and regulations that may impact the company.
  • Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies, coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies as required.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Serve as the company's primary contact with regulatory agencies for environmental matters.
  • Lead initiatives to improve environmental performance and reduce environmental impact.
  • Acting as the definitive subject matter expert, this role holds ultimate responsibility for all aspects of environmental compliance within the company.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in the ready-mix concrete and aggregates industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations and standards in Colorado and Texas is required, with a strong preference for familiarity with the regulatory environments of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certification in environmental compliance or management is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to various operational sites.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Position based in Henderson, Colorado, with responsibilities extending across multiple regions.

Salary range - USD 92,000-120,000
