NOW HIRING: LABORATORY ASSISTANT (I)

Our client, a leading global research and development organization that supports patients through diagnostic and research methods, is looking to add a passionate laboratory assistant to their team as they begin preparations for a largescale project set to begin this Fall (2024)! This exciting upcoming project is heavily involved in the research of pharmaceutical immunotherapy treatments! Currently, they are adding to their Microbiology team and need extra laboratory support to ensure proper GLPs and SOPs are followed! This is a 2nd shift (1:30pm - 10:00pm), Monday through Friday opportunity with a starting rate of $18/hr (negotiable based on experience). While working this opportunity, you will have the chance to learn and develop monumentally within the health and life sciences industry! Your day-to-day responsibilities may appear as follows:
Daily Duties
- Receive and sort specimens
- Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
- Scan and /or data entry of specimen and patient information
- Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrument maintenance as needed
- Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
- Replenish test bench supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Complete record logs and other administrative duties
- Follow and implement all SOP requirements
MUST HAVE
- High School Diploma and/or GED Equivalent
- 6+ months medical / laboratory experience
- Ability to identify and handle biological specimens
- Ability to work in a high--volume / fast-paced environment
- Must have high level attention to detail
- Must have strong written and verbal communication
- Must have ability to sit and / or stand for long periods of time
NICE TO HAVE
- Laboratory and production experience
- Associates and/or Bachelor degree in life science
- Specimen handling and processing experience prior
- Flexibility to work additional if needed to complete project requirements timely
