Senior Product Manager Consultant - Telecom Infrastructure Automation | Next Generation Operations

We also oversee modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. And to make the whole process run smoothly and seamlessly, we’re experts in managing projects to deliver business outcome, from defining product requirements, managing their build out, to winning customers in collaboration with sales and delivering the solutions with services to customer.  This is a technical domain so a senior level product manager needs to be comfortable with software architecture, cloud operating principles and solving the challenges of operating a distributed cloud infrastructure at scale.  Dell’s Telecom Systems Business is developing an Infrastructure Automation platform that serves as the cloud infrastructure enablement platform for Dell’s telecom business ambition.

What you’ll achieve


As a Product Management Senior Consultant, you will identify new growth areas, technologies, and emerging product/service opportunities. You will conduct in-depth market research to optimize existing products/solutions and build next generation products, partnering closely with the Engineering and Product Management teams to build a product roadmap and align product strategies for the business.  You also need to work hand-in-hand with sales to win customers and manage their implementation and relationship to ensure customer success on our products.

You will:

•Applies broad knowledge of company’s product/service capabilities and industry environment to identify new growth areas, new technology and emerging product/service opportunities. Evaluates in-depth market research and heads business case for optimization of existing products/solutions alternatives and/or to create the next generation of new products.

•Oversees and drives products/ solutions through the phase release or solutions release process including business case and resource requirements and manages product portfolio roadmap and works to scope opportunities and obtain appropriate funding for new programs.

•Creates, implements, and monitors plans for testing products/ solutions through beta releases or pilot programs while ensuring that product/ solution features and specifications reflect customer requirements.

•Prioritizes features and specifications, applying budget, timeline and other constraints. Works across all functional areas, gathering inputs, updating product plans and roadmaps, and communicating the impact of product/ solution features to all stakeholders as well as works extensively with Product Marketing to build product/ solutions marketing plans and drive them through the organization. Collaborates with other Product Managers, BU stakeholders and Engineering/ R&D stakeholders to align product strategies into comprehensive portfolios for the BU

•Reviews product/ solution evaluation metrics from multiple sources and ensures they are incorporated in future versions.

  • Develop sales enablement materials, train sales and work alongside sales to nurture customer opportunities to win deals. 
  • Upon winning customer deals, maintain customer intimacy and relationship to ensure we deliver successful implementation of our products and customer value on an ongoing basis.

Essential Requirements:

•15+ years of related experience (preferably within telecommunications)

•Deep technical expertise in software architecture,  telco operating environments as well as the telco ecosystem vendors

•Business and entrepreneurial acumen with strategic and critical thinking

•Strong technical acumen with a history of building/delivering enterprise products

•Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional specifications, coordinating efforts to scope and scheduling and deploying new feature sets

•Experience in writing product and customer requirements and using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize objectives.

Desirable Requirements  

•Bachelor’s Degree

•Strong technical skills in orchestration and automation of IT, datacenter, edge computing systems, Cloud, compute, storage, networking and security. Familiarity with telco assurance systems and processes as well as cloud-native network function operations for mobile network
