Everyday in the Safari is a wild one! As the Safari Supervisor, you will be an integral part of animal caretaking as well as promoting and education about  the conservation of many different species of exotic animals.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review and update all animal area Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, address and audit safety issues, protocols and certifications
  • Provide supervisory coverage in all animal areas within the park including predator, pachyderm, ungulate, operational and educational areas. 
  • Adjust diets with Veterinary Department.  Assist Veterinary Department as required.  Ensure medications are dispensed as prescribed by park Veterinarian..
  • Keep accurate and up to date records for all aspects of areas assigned to.
  • Develop rapport with Maintenance Departments to ensure timely repair of safety issues.  Report any issues to Manager and Director.
  • Provide leadership and foster a sense of teamwork within the Safari. 

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. 
  • 3-5 years experience working with exotic animals
  • Exhibits strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise, train, motivate, issue corrective action and listen to employees.
  • Work with employees of varied backgrounds and skills to increase teamwork.
  • Ability to react to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Ability to diffuse difficult guest problems and situations in a professional manner.
  • Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
