Job Description

About the role:

You will support all current and future processes in production in B8 Purification which may include small, mid or large-scale manufacturing, while strictly following cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines and any other related regulations which could apply. They are expected to participate in both departmental projects and any quality working teams which may be applicable. Under the general direction of the manufacturing lead operator and the direction of the supervisor, this position shall manage the hands-on execution of all activities in the production area. You may lead a smaller team around one or more pieces of equipment and may be a delegate to the lead operator in their absence. In addition to making routine revisions to documents, they may rewrite complex procedures or initiate new procedures as applicable. You will have enough applied technical knowledge to perform advanced troubleshooting tasks on manual and automated equipment and may even assist during the transfer of new technologies into manufacturing. They have enough technical and administrative competence to organize and lead production activities, including demonstrating leadership in cGMP compliance, and environmental health and safety skills. How you will contribute:

  • Follow all safety rules, SOPs, cGMP, work rules and other company policies and programs.

  • Support all local manufacturing operations.

  • Complete relevant paperwork following GDP/GMP guidelines.

  • Perform hands-on execution of manual and automated manufacturing operations. Equipment includes: Centrifuges, Filter Presses, Ultrafiltration systems, CIP/COP, Nanofiltration Skids, Chromatography Columns and material handling devices. Manual activities include weighing and addition of chemicals, paste suspension, equipment cleaning, room cleaning, equipment assembly/disassembly, transfer panel connections, titrations and other activities.

  • Interface and Navigate through the DeltaV, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and Electronic Batch Management (EBM) systems to respond to process events, changes, and tasks.

  • Respond to alarms accurately escalate the issue to management and the appropriate support groups.

  • Receive and distribute supplies into the production area.

  • May perform removal of hazardous waste.

  • Troubleshoot process problems and respond to process alarms.

  • Communicate issues related to safety, quality, compliance and equipment to the manufacturing lead operator and supervisor.

  • Assist lead operator by leading a smaller team around one or more pieces of equipment.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • High school diploma or GED 2+ years of experience or AA or higher and 1+ years of related work experience.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. You may:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Will stand for extended periods of time throughout the duration of an 8 or 12-hour shift.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs while wearing special gowning.

  • May require bending, twisting, reaching, and squatting motions to perform certain tasks.

  • In general, you will have a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.

  • May work in a confined area.

  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.

  • May work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

  • Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • May work in a cold, hot or wet environment.

  • May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection. Facial hair must be removed if required to wear respirator.

  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends.

  • Must be able to work overtime as required. (only for non-exempt positions)

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$18.85 - $29.62

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives.
