This position will support the driver with deliveries and the branch operation by working in the warehouse and loading and unloading roofing material both in the yard and rooftop.

Pay Range: $16.50-$18.50

Essential Job Duties:
  • Pull, stage, and load orders onto outgoing trucks by repetitive lifting of up to 100 pounds per item.
  • Aid Driver in inspecting materials scheduled for delivery to confirm that the shipment is correct and that it is properly loaded and secured.
  • Ride with the driver to the job site to unload roofing product at jobsite.
  • Assist driver in evaluating delivery site, noting potential hazards, obstacles, physical challenges, etc.; guide driver in maneuvering onto and off customer's property to avoid damage as needed.
  • Catch material off of conveyor and stack shingle bundles and other roofing material as directed.
  • Support driver in maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
  • Assist warehouse associates and direct supervisor in maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Receive in-coming roofing products, commodities and materials; stock all roofing material received in appropriate bins or storage locations.
  • Count, verify, and unload incoming orders and shipments.
  • Assist inventory control in counting and organizing roofing materials on as needed basis.
  • Operate forklift with foot and hand controls in a safe manner to complete orders onto delivery equipment.
  • Keep all bays stocked and neat to facilitate efficient load building processes.
  • Keep staging areas clean and organized.
  • Treat customers, contractors, and associates in a courteous, considerate, and cooperative manner.
  • Follow safety procedures as outlined by company safety program and operator manual for forklift.
  • Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follow all safety procedures; maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
  • Complies with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Minimum education required- High School or GED preferred.
  • Minimum experience required - 1 to 2 years as striker or roof loader; 1 year warehouse experience. Forklift operation and license is preferred.
  • Other - Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast pace, ever changing environment.
  • Ability to work in heights ranging from 1 to 3 story residential buildings and 1 to 2 story commercial roofs.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time, bending or stooping, lifting up to 100 pounds consistently and working in adverse weather conditions.
