Animal Technician

Seeking an Animal Handler who is interested working with Small Animals!

Excellent opportunity to work hands on with animals - 1st Shift - Pay: $20/hr.

Animal Husbandry Duties:

• Observing the physical condition of mice, rats and other lab animals for signs of disease or illness
• Checking food and water levels for each animal. Adding more if needed.
• Ensuring animals are housed in an environment that meets institution and department standards for cleanliness.
• Document daily room check sheets and perform weekly or bi-weekly change outs.
• House (new) incoming animals
• Operating cage washers, autoclaves and bedding disposal equipment
• Assembling clean caging to be used in animal rooms for change outs

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma
• 6+ months of experience within animal care (husbandry, animal handling, etc.)
