Manpower Engineering is currently partnering with a twin cities medical device start-up focused on a novel transcatheter treatment for heart valve disease that will change the future of treatment for patients across the world. 

The Engineering Technician (Metal Forming) position will have responsibility for the production of components in the metals processing area. Metals manufacturing activities will involve forming and inspection of medical device components per established manufacturing procedures. This position will also support manufacturing operations with responsibilities for receiving inspection and material inventory tasks. Responsibilities may also support quality tasks such as coordinating of test sample testing, processing of device history files and PM/Calibration activities.
 

Job Title: Engineering Technician (Metal Forming)

Location: Plymouth, MN

Pay Range: $35.00 - $38.00/hour

 

What’s the Job?

  • Metal processing of components for R&D and clinical builds
  • Execute quality inspection and testing per established test methods.
  • Support R&D in product and process development activities
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Coordinate external processing of components with established vendors.
  • Set up and operate a variety of hand tools as well as more sophisticated machine tools (including milling machines, lathes, grinders or bandsaws) in order to machine various materials to fabricate patterns.

 

What’s Needed?
 

  • High School Diploma/Associate’s Degree or Equivalent combination of education/Work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the medical device industry within an operations or engineering team.
  • Experience in metal forming (nitinol preferred) with knowledge of associated safety processes.
  • Experience operating in a regulatory industry (medical device manufacturers (ISO13485, 21CFR820 preferred).
  • Experience with completing quality records (device history records).
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and specifications.
