New Story School is an educational organization comprised of special education schools in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. We offer an academic learning environment integrated with behavior support services for students diagnosed with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with Department of Education Regulations and PA school code
- Ensures compliance with Federal and State Special Education Laws and Regulations
- Coordinate initiatives and implementation of projects in all New Story Schools locations
- Project training needs and coordinate training for staff to increase skill development
- Develop presentations for conferences (state and national level)
- Provide support, guidance, and supervision to Academic administrators in all school locations
- Facilitate standardization of practices within each region and in organization.
- Travel to various school locations across the state as necessary
- Supervise Director of Curriculum and Instruction and oversee curriculum programs in all school locations
- Oversee Induction plan for teachers
- Lead Act 48 plan
- Collaborate with other members of the Senior Director leadership team
- Support Vice President’s goals and initiatives
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must possess knowledge of PA Department of Education Regulations.
- Must possess knowledge of Federal and State Special Education Laws and Regulations
- Must possess knowledge of curriculum development for children with special education needs.
- Must have knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents.
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain relationships with school districts and members of the community.
- Must have strong leadership, communication, time management and organizational skills.
- Must display a professional appearance and demeanor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Special Education or related
- PA Special Education teaching certificate or Supervisor of Special Education certificate
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working in the special education
- Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in an educational system
