About The Position
 Experienced Pediatric Pulmonologist needed for a locum tenens assignment in New York. This 84-day opportunity, starting 01/01/2026, involves providing 24-hour call coverage at a hospital for one week per month. The schedule consists of 7-day stretches from Monday 7am to the following Monday 7am, with in-person rounding and consultations from 8am-5pm, and out-of-house call from 5pm-8am except for critical procedures. The role includes managing 10-25 consults per week, performing 1-2 bronchoscopies, and being available for critical procedures as needed. This position requires an active New York medical license and offers potential for extension.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide 24-hour call coverage for pediatric pulmonology services
• Conduct in-person rounds and consultations from 8am-5pm
• Manage 10-25 consults per week while on call
• Perform 1-2 bronchoscopies per week as needed
• Respond to emergency calls and provide critical care when required
• Collaborate with other pediatric specialists and healthcare professionals
• Diagnose and treat various pediatric respiratory conditions
• Develop and implement treatment plans for complex pulmonary cases
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory health and management
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Epic EMR
• Ensure adherence to all hospital policies and procedures
• Stay current with the latest developments in pediatric pulmonology
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in New York
• Board certification in Pediatric Pulmonology required
• Experience with high-acuity pediatric pulmonary cases preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs and emergency situations
• Willingness to be on call for entire week-long shifts
