Edison, NJ OB/GYN Hospitalist Locum Tenens Opportunity | 24-Hour Shifts | Flexible Scheduling

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Board Certified OB/GYN Physicians for an ongoing locum tenens hospitalist opportunity in Edison, New Jersey. This high-demand role offers 24-hour shift options at a busy, well-supported facility with resident involvement and a comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic surgical caseload. Providers seeking flexible scheduling, including weekends only, are encouraged to apply.

Opportunity Details

• Location: Edison, NJ

• Contract Type: Locum Tenens – OB/GYN Hospitalist

• Start Date: May 2025

• Duration: 6+ months

• Shift Schedule: 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

• Minimum Shift Commitment: 2 shifts per month

• Total Monthly Shifts Available: 6

• Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days (temp privileges available)

• Setting: 535-bed hospital with Level II NICU

• EMR: Epic

Program Details

• Day Coverage: 1 Physician and 1 CNM, with resident involvement

• Night Coverage: 1 Physician and 1 CNM

• Annual Deliveries: 692

• Annual OB ED Visits: 53,000

• Annual Surgical Procedures: 107

• C-section Assists: Fewer than 20 annually

• Backup Call: Private physicians rotate call coverage

• FP Resident Supervision: Required when on shift

Clinical Scope

• OB/GYN Hospitalist Duties: Full inpatient obstetric care, emergency gynecologic surgeries, and consults

• Procedures: D&C for incomplete abortion, laparoscopy/laparotomy for adnexal torsion or ectopic pregnancy, BTL, cone biopsy, hysteroscopy (non-OB), and circumcisions

• Consults: ER and inpatient consults required

• Surgery Assist: Yes

• OBED Visits: Not applicable at this site

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certification: American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). Canadian Boarded physicians not accepted

• Licensure: Active New Jersey Medical License and unrestricted DEA

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of active OB/GYN hospitalist experience

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and relevant obstetric certifications
