Rebecca School is seeking a Licensed Social Worker for the 2024 school year to work with students age 3 to 21 with neurodevelopmental delays in relating, communicating and thinking. As a Social Worker, you will play an integral role in the success of our students, joining a large team of highly trained professionals that provides educational, clinical and therapeutic services. Rebecca School utilizes the DIRFloortime method, a relationship-based model of teaching instruction developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan, offering a safe and nurturing environment for students and families.
Pay Range is $65,000 to $75,000 depending on degree and experience (based on a 12-month position).
RESPONSIBILITIES | WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Maintain a caseload of clients for counseling and psychoeducation
- Provide support to students and families and serve as a liaison between home and school
- Assist families in applying for assistance and accessing resources as needed
- Home visits, family counseling, family support and education
- Provide classroom consultation
- Supervise psychological assessments and prepare written reports identifying the student's needs and proposed treatment strategies, goals and objectives
- Maintain progress records
- Support and collaborate with teachers and related services providers
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Maintain professional competence by attending staff development programs and continuing education programs
- Participate in weekly Greenspan meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings and staff training
QUALIFICATIONS | WHAT YOU BRING
- Master's Degree
- Valid NYS License and State Certification
- Knowledge of DIRFloortime is preferred, but not required
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with students, staff and parent
