Position Overview

Delivers materials to job site, ins pects and mainta ins tru ck, reports shortages and cl aims to supervisor and assists in loading and storing of materials. T y picall y , driving a tru ck with a capacit y of more than three tons, but ma y be a less experienced CD L or tractor trailer driver.

Essential Job Duties

  • Operates Safel y
  • Participates in a positive work environment
  • Mainta ins a current Cl ass A or B Commercial Driver's License as required
  • Prepares DOT required log of time on dut y and driving
  • Organizes and secures load
  • Assists forklift operators when loading
  • Checks orders for accurac y
  • Delivers and unloads materials to customers' satisfaction
  • Completes dail y equipment pre- ins pection
  • Records all merchandise that is returned b y tru ck, assists in unloading material returned for cre di t
  • Follows guidelines established b y the Department of Transportation
  • Provides Excellent Customer Service
  • Rela y s messages sent b y customers while on job
  • Assists supervisor, other emplo y ees and other work areas, as assigned
  • Assists in maintaining good housekeeping in y ar d and warehouse
  • Complies with all compan y policies and guidelines
  • Safe and efficient operation of tru ck mounted forklift
  • Maintain cl eanliness of tru ck


  • Participates in and completes assigned trainings
  • Performs other duties as assigned b y Management


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum education preferred - High School Diploma or general equivalenc y degree (GED).
  • Minimum experience preferred - 6 months CD L experience preferred. Basic CD L experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required . 1 y ear CD L experience required for interstate commerce.
  • Special skills required- Abilit y to do basic math, read orders, write ins t ru ctions and complete forms.
  • Abilit y to effectivel y and professionall y communicate with customers, other emplo y ees and
  • supervisors using verbal and written skills.
  • Abilit y to deal cons tru ctivel y with conflict and recognize potential problems.
  • Mainta ins current operator's license and meets compan y driver qualification requirements.
  • Knowledge and abilit y to use safe lifting techniques
  • Ph y sical demands in cl ude stooping, bending, twisting and thro win g. Working in a variet y of cl imates and environmental conditions. Abilit y to lift up 100 lbs or more on a repetitive basis.
  • Proficienc y with or abilit y to learn current technologies ( e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessar y business applications)
