This position will mix and blend pet care products in a safe and standardized way, ensuring each batch is accurate and done according to Standard Operating Procedures with quality mixes for production manufacturing standards.聽
Essential Duities and Responsibilities:
- Accurately measure, select and blend ingredients to meet Pet IQ's standards of product.聽
- Obtain all required paperwork for shift. (e.g., scale verification, batch blend, time blend)聽
- Communicate all issues to management that could result in process delays or deviations, safety issues, or otherwise cause loss to the company or its associates.聽
- Check pipes, doors, fittings, and hoses for loose parts.
- Clean and sanitize equipment as necessary.聽
- Review requisition and batch sheets to ensure all items, quantities and lot codes received are correct.聽
- Perform scale audits and complete batch checklist.聽
- Measure and blend ingredients into batch according to batch sheet instructions.
- Monitor blending process.
- Accurately completes all paperwork.聽
- Places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices.聽
- Adhere to all health and safety rules, standards and policies, including reporting any incidents to the Supervisor on duty.聽聽
- Follows all company safety rules, policies, procedures and GMPs.聽
- Reports machine malfunctions to supervisor.聽
- Demonstrates a commitment and understanding of business policies and procedures.聽
- Accurately maintains process records, work reports, and maintenance logs.聽聽
- Cleans and maintains equipment and an organized work area.聽
- Monitor and maintainaccurate inventory of materials and equipment.聽
- Obtain blending materials and components, including physically moving materials.聽
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend required paperwork in English.聽
- Dependable, with reliable transportation is a must.
- Must have a good eye for detail.聽
- Meet and maintain production standards.聽
- Proven successful history of working independently or collaborate in a group environment.聽
- Must be well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.聽
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.聽 Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.聽
- Must meet productivity standards; Complete work in timely manner and constantly seeks ways to increase productivity.聽
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a production machine operator, chemical blending or similar work.
- A complete working knowledge of the blending operation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.聽
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Primarily sedentary standing work with occasional walking, lifting, moving, and traveling to other departments or work areas and perform repetitive manual tasks.聽
- The position is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.聽聽聽
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel and crouch.聽聽
- Regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.聽
