LSF is seeking a talented Job Developer who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

Purpose and Impact:

To assist clients in reaching self-sufficiency through regular employment and after client training's completed. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Responsible for conducting an annual uptake analysis which identifies the number of eligible clients in the county in the prior federal fiscal year and the number and percentage that used refugee employment services. The report for the prior year is due no later than January 15th. (see contract manual) 
  • Surveys local job market to determine the occupations available in the community, analyze job content for major occupational categories, develop a listing of major employers, identify prevailing wages, and maintain a record of all job development This information shall be provided to the immediate supervisor in the form of a written narrative report twice each fiscal year for the duration of the contract. 
  • Responsible for coordinating job development services based on the knowledge of the specific needs and skills of the target population and the local job  
  • Responsible for marketing clients' abilities, negotiate with employers and facilitate successful job matches and  
  • Develop a list of major employers and significant employers of refugees, identify prevailing wages, and maintain a record of all job development This information shall be provided to RS in the form of a written narrative report each federal fiscal year for the duration of the contract and be presented to the local Refugee Task Force no later than December 31 on an annual basis. 
  • Gathers Job Development information of new job sites submitted by Employment Specialist I (ESI) by the 4th. Thursday of every  
  • Compiles Job Development information and enters it in the Job Bank Database if sites resulted in hires for the program Keeps track of the job sites submitted by the ESI indicating that the job sites did not have a successful result. 
  • Generates a Job Development report (including all sites) and submit to the Supervisor by the 5th. of the following Submits monthly reports to immediate supervisor. 
  • Agreements with employers for on-the-job-training, group placements, placements with built-in promotional sequences or other special conditions for placement shall be established. 
  • Provides orientation to clients about prospective employer expectations and work ethic Emphasis is placed on achieving suitable employment in accordance to client's education or training. 
  • Assist clients in developing an effective professional  
  • Establishes agreements with employers for on-the-job training, group placements, placements with built-in promotional sequences or other special conditions for placement. Works closely with the employers to ensure clients are informed about requirements for promotions, salary increase, and any educational opportunities available at the workplace. 
  • Placement of each Vocational Education clients. Submits documentation regarding placements.  
  • Assists the Vocational Counselor with placement follow-up and case management. 
  • Responsible to submit a report required by DCF regarding successful or challenging stories as scheduled by Program Supervisor and Team  
  • Contacts unions, trade associations, and/or the local Chamber of Commerce as means of job and training Maintain records of client referrals through these processes in the clients' case files. 
  • Must possess a clean/valid Florida Driver License, reliable transportation, proof of Insurance, and be able to use own vehicle to perform job duties. Transcript of driving record will be requested from the Department of Motor Vehicle at the time of hire. Ability to travel countrywide and out of county in the execution of professional duties and for training/conferences. 
  • Other duties reasonably assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Other Functions: 

Responsible to carry and maintain an agency pager or cellular phone, as budgetary and programs needs dictate. 

Physical Requirements: 

Ability to: drive, self and clients, acquire operational skills with a computer, sit for long periods of time, develop coherent written correspondence and case record notes, adapt to irregular hours, perform light lifting, and be flexible to cover whatever staffing hours the program requires. 

Education: 

Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or Public relations. 

Experience: 

Must have a minimum 5 years professional experience in public relations, commercial sales, and/or a work history successful job development for skilled/professional clients (LSF)  

Skills: 

Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and the general public. Must be able to function in the community without the presence of direct supervision. Must be able to maintain high level of professional responsibility in reporting activities, conduct and schedule to supervisor. Ability to speak English and a second language (Spanish/Serbo Croatian) fluently preferred. 

Comments: 

Funding For This Position Beyond September 30, 2016 ls Subject To Contract Renewal And Terms Of New Contract.
