Essential Functions聽

Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Places orders, coordinates aspects of care with other departments, calls codes, and pages as requested.
Assists to coordinate patient flow within the department. Serves as a resource to other departments to ensure surgical patient flow. Assembles and maintaines patient records and charts.
Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies.
Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed.
Accurately schedules surgery cases and maintains an up to date surgery schedule.
Takes call as determined by the department director.
Serves as a resource to the department for quality/auditing purposes.
Takes daily attendance and reports any absences to the Department Director.
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Minimum EducationAssociate's degree - Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS)- within 30 days of hireAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) with in 30 days of hirePALS within 30 days of hireHandle with Care - within 30 days of hireLicenses:RN in the state of Kentucky
