Bioassay Technician

Technician supports laboratory operations related to bioassay and heparin testing. The responsibilities include performing various assays and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  •    Keep Animal Husbandry Technician informed of any needed tasks.
  •      Prepare reagents and dilutions required for anti-Factor IIa and anti-Factor X a experiments.
  •      Maintain precise records of dilutions and testing in dedicated bound ledgers and equipment calibrations on dedicated controlled forms.
  •      Perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
  •      Inventory samples for return to customer.
  •      Assist Team Lead Bioassay or Team Lead Vivarium with tasks and projects.
  •      Document Out of Specifications test results.
  •      Contribute to various lab-related tasks.
  •      Ensure compliance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements.
  •      Attend relevant training sessions to stay updated with industry standards.
  •      Back up for any Vivarium tasks.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include directly related college-level student practicum.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement, preferred.
  • General experience in a research environment.

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge of animal husbandry requirements, methods, and techniques.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge of laboratory facilities and/or equipment.
