Description:

Develop, administer and ensure compliance with all SQF (Safe Quality Food), HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points), and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) systems, policies, programs and procedures at the local facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Percentage of time Description

20% Manage, reassess, and ensure compliance with the HACCP plan, pre-requisite programs, and SQF programs.

20% Schedule and maintain the sampling and testing program.

20% Ensure compliance of all company Quality and Food Safety policies, including but not limited to, HACCP, SQF, and FSIS documentation compliance and PHIS updates.

20% Serve as liaison between company and FSIS (Food Safety & Inspection Service).

10% Administer FSIS required Food Safety Orientation Training and supplemental coaching of HACCP/SQF policy compliance for the location leadership team.

5% Complete all required audits in collaboration including the following but not limited to, FDA (Food & Drug Administration), WDATCP (Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection), USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), SQF and vendors.

5% Provide and ensure the correct labeling statements on our products to comply with applicable regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

 Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science or related discipline or four (4) years of relevant work experience

 One (1) year of experience in Quality Assurance/Food Safety/Research in meat production environment

License/Certifications

 N/A

Preferred Qualifications

 SQF and/or HACCP certification

 Knowledge of HACCP, SQF and USDA regulations

 Ability to build professional relationships with quality assurance team members and cross functional teams while facilitating a collaborative environment

 Proficient skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

 Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

 Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas concisely and clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writing

 Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines through prioritization of tasks
