GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Blood Bank RN has the responsibility for recruitment of apheresis donors and performance of apheresis blood collections. Responsible for participating in planning and operation of scheduled blood drives as determined by section supervisor. AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position. Assesses and maintains compliance with regulatory standards. Must have valid New York State drivers license and meet CVPH standards for eligibility as a vehicle driver.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. Current licensed Registered Nurse with past phlebotomy experience.
2. AHA-BLS is reuired within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS Card will be honored up to date of renewal.
3. Demonstrated experience in program planning and development, administration and public relations.
4. Should possess high degree of motivation and a self-starter.
5. Excellent written and verbal skills are essential. Knowledge of community organizing and volunteer mobilization helpful.
6. Prior computer skills preferred.
