GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for managing and coordination care for the post-procedural extended recovery, and/or the observational care patient in the Cardiac Vascular Care Unit. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the management of patient care utilizing the nursing process to asses, plan, implement, and evaluate patient outcomes. The nurse directs and guides the delivery of nursing care, patient education, and all care related activities, while maintaining standards of professional nursing collaborating with other disciplines as appropriate. The RN may be required to float.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills Required:
1. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
2. Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
3. BLS or ACLS required with ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
4. Meets requirements of physical/pre-placement screening.
5. Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.
6. Completion of Cardiac Rhythm course within 3 to 6 months required.
7. Completion of Critical Care course within 3 to 6 months required.
8. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
9. Ability to anticipate, prioritize, perform and complete multiple job responsibilities in a timely manner.
