UNIT DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Behavioral Health Center (SBHC) is a geriatric psychiatric/behavioral unit. Registered and licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, unit coordinators, nurse practitioners, social workers, occupational therapists, activity coordinators, dietitians and a physician medical director staff the unit.Â
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care to geriatric population that suffers both significant psychiatric and physical co-morbidities.
- Ensuring that a safe and therapeutic environment exists and is maintained for this population.
- Safe administration of medication, including a thorough knowledge of psychiatric medications.
- Collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary team in order to provide comprehensive psychiatric and medical care to both patients and their families.

Minimum Requirements:
- Current Massachusetts RN License
- Evidence of Continuing Education
- Previous experience working as a RN required, Med/Surg Nursing Experience preferred
- AHA BLS required.

- 6-12 Months Charge Nurse Experience
- Experience with Geriatric Psych Population.
