Job Description:

UNIT DESCRIPTION:

The Birthplace is a 12-bed, private room, labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum unit that includes a nursery staffed by obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, pediatricians, neonatologists and registered nurses. The Unit also has a 2 bed triage and 6 bed postpartum area. Registered nurses are required to demonstrate competent care of the patient in labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn advanced fetal monitoring, breastfeeding education, neonatal resuscitation certification, advanced life support certification, and the OR scrub and circulating roles.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Massachusetts RN license required
  • Active AHA BLS required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a RN in acute care required
  • Willingness to cross train to postpartum and well newborn required  
  • NRP, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, and AHA ACLS required within 6months of hire.
