TRC’s client is an established auto parts manufacturer looking for an Automation Controls Engineer to join their team in Portland, ME on a full-time, direct hire basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, and modify equipment to meet project timelines and support initiatives.
- Create electrical drawings and/or wiring diagrams for control panels.
- Program and interface with automated systems including Allen Bradley PLCs, Fanuc robots, UR collaborative robots, Keyence vision systems, HMIs, and other related components.
- Collaborate with designers to suggest drawing modifications and establish best practices.
- Develop, test, and document equipment standardized work for training and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, ensure proper maintenance, and promote safety standards.
- Maintain operating and production standards and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Travel occasionally for meetings, trainings, or equipment validation (typically 1-2 times per year).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with programming Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs, Fanuc Robots, and UR Robots
- Proficient with Autodesk Electrical and Autodesk Inventor
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to collaborate and interact with various teams internally and externally
